I imported a STEP file, and need to edit it. Sketch tool is wonky

I am working on the following public document, specifically the X-Carriage Part Studio.  So on some of the sides I can create a sketch on the plane, but then I can't activate any thing like line, circle or anything.  Also what does it mean that all the features listed on left are greyed out except the derived part of the step file.  What limitations should I expect when importing a STEP file?

No limitations. You are in rollback mode - drag the bar to the end or right click and select roll to end.

Yes I was just in rollback mode trying something else.  If I drag bar to end I still see the issues I was describing.

So this is wierd, so I was using the above on a chromebook.  And now I tried on a Mac with Chrome and everything works like I would expect.

Is the chrome book up to date? sometimes pressing shift and reload to clear the cache is all that's needed.
