Loft Cylindrical surface onto a cube surface

I'm trying to create a lofted surface between a cylindrical tube and a hollow cube (cylinder smaller than cube).  I thought that since they were centered on the same axis and very regular the software would do it easily without any guides etc.  I'm finding it a challenge to get it to work, any suggestions?

I'm after something like below.  These jars are somewhat rounded square bases, tapering up at the shoulder to a circular top.
I want to model something similar lofting from the base to the circular top.

You should try splitting the circle sketch at the top into the same number of segments found in the rounded square section (8) and move the split points to where you need them.

I realize the problem I had... I wasn't selecting the 'face' properly when I was selecting the two surfaces for the shapes.  I actually have a bigger problem, and this seems like a bug/shortcoming in OnShape.  I can't loft the circle to a fillet cornered cube because the surface doesn't change with the fillet.  I'm going to post a separate post on this issue.

The 'Path FS' is a big help, thank you !  Seems like something that should be a native feature.

What do you mean? Does my solution not look correct?
