I cant set material properties on .step parts I imported

1 I import step files
2 I assign material to parts
3 Mass property says : one or more parts do not have material defined !!

For my project it is kind important to define mass to parts and assemblies.
did anyone had this issue? Any advice,

    did all of the bodies come in as solid parts? or did some end up as open surfaces?

    No open surfaces, all bodies come as solids,
    if I assign material to all parts or one by one it makes no difference,
    Mass property still says some parts are not assigned and it is not like it missed just few parts, often it says mass=0

    @reyhan_mujezinovic

    Can you post the URL of a public document with an example of this happening?

    I have free account and I have access to a private folder where I create documents from imported step files.
    When I add same files on my account no problem... but in this private folder scenario I can't make it work

    How can I then add and modify parts?

    I think you got 2 possibilities to add and modify parts:
    a) Switch to Pro Account or
    b) Copy the private document (if you got the rights) to your Free Account. Now you can edit, but the document is public!
