Is there a way to import Catia V5 files so that they are in vehicle position?

I recieved files from Automotive company that are supposed to be in vehicle position. I need to design a bracket that connects certain parts and doesn't interfere with others, but when I import the files separately they come in on the origin.

Translators shouldn't move parts to origin. I'm not familiar with catia's format, but the other translators won't move parts to the origin.

You may ask for the assembly translation vs. part translation from catia. The assembly should bring parts in with their positions preserved. If not, use parasolids or step, they won't move things around.

There's always 2 sides to a translation, the side that wrote the data & the side that reads the data, both have to get it right.

    Good luck,

Yep, what @billy2 said. In my experience, most Catia parts are modeled in place, but that's not always the case. If these parts are being positioned in the assembly, then you will need a STEP file of the whole assembly. That should place the parts in their proper assembly position. Maybe one day OS will support importing of CATProducts, but until then STEP files will have to suffice.
