Bridging curve and beams

Is it possible to use the beams feature with bridging curves. I tried but failed ...

NeilCooke Moderator, Onshape Employees Posts: 5,778I purposefully blocked the use of splines (lines and arcs only) because controlling the orientation of the profile during the sweep operation was problematic. If your bridging curve is attached to lines or arcs at the ends you could create a beam on those entities then use the face of the beam as your profile in a sweep feature.Senior Director, Technical Services, EMEA5

Your answer makes sense, but would it be possible to enable it on pipes/rods which don't need a profile orientation?
