Hi,
I'll try to be specific...
I'm designing a component that's to be fitted in a concrete structure. To illustrate what this will look like, I mock up the concrete structure in a part studio and fit my steel part and concrete in an assembly. Then I create a drawing of the assembly with a section view. The problem now is that the concrete part has the diagonal lining and not the traditional "concrete look".
Even if I designated the material in the part studio to be concrete.
Any suggestions?
Or do I really have to dig up my long since forgotten CD with AutoCad LT 2012?
Sincerely
Matthias

So, the quick answer is you can't...
But, the full, long, horrible and ugly answer could be:
You can create something like that hatch modeling in the Part Studio
And then create a drawing to show that "like a hatch"
Here is this sample document https://cad.onshape.com/documents/86ab8753af7d9b7bf66b1c5a/w/410c37c05400db9bdd088fe2/e/8f8247c34f570f280aeaabf4
I know, I know... It is long, horrible and ugly, very, very ugly

Yes we need custom hatching, but i love that you can store your 'concrete sketch' in another document and just derive it in any time you need it!
I believe that Onshape are doing a great job in the modeling area (Part Studios and Assemblies) but Drawings are very, very loose compared to traditional CAD. So, please in the next releases try to put the focus on Drawings

And Onshape's reallity today is that Drawings are way behind from traditional CAD

you know what they say
Some things in life are bad
They can really make you mad
Other things just make you swear and curse
When you're chewing on life's gristle
Don't grumble, give a whistle
And wait for the next release in 3 weeks...
