Script for taking screenshots of old versions

PAchardPAchard Member, Developers Posts: 3 PRO
Something I thought could be cool to do is automate a way to take screenshots of a tab on all versions of a document; that way you could generate a cool gif of how a design has progressed through its lifetime...
Has anyone worked on something like this?

One way to do this would be to use the REST APIs in Onshape. We store thumbnails for each version. One could request the element / part thumbnails for a given version. Once you have the PNG files, you could then convert them to a GIF.
