Bounded Planar Surface

Brian_McVeighBrian_McVeigh Member Posts: 78 PRO
The ability to create a planar surface from multiple bounding edges would be great.  At the moment this can be achieved with a Fill, but it seems like overkill for this, adding 0.5 second onto the regen time.  It can also be done, with a sketch, an extrude, and an enclose, but it'd be much tidier to have it as a 'bounded plane' feature.

usually offseted surface with zero offset distance should manage this

@Brian_McVeigh Now if this is done on the end of a cup shape then the offset surface with 0 offset might not do the trick unless it has a sketch face to use.  A few comments here:

    1) Fill works and best when not exactly planar..
    2) You can use offset surface at 0 but if you do not have a face to pick like a sketch then it is not as helpful .
    3) if the goal is to make a solid adding any planar surface will do untrimmed and Enclose will work.

I would still use fill or add a sketch and use of offset.

You could use three point plane if you wanted to use enclose (it will accept the plane)

Interesting, didn't know an untrimmed face would be enough, cheers for the tips!
