Tutorial on stick framming?

Hello,
I just recently found OS, and would really like to explore its use for a cabin project. I have seen a couple of frames demos, and that content is great, but geared to industrial design. Are there any resources for creating a model similar to what is shown in this video?

This video uses the Beam custom feature. Beam was the original frame custom feature by @NeilCooke. It has been integrated directly within Onshape now and is called Frame. Once your frames have been inserted into the part studio, use the Cut list feature to generate the cut list. Note that you need to use the Frame trim feature to trim frame ends rather than a standard extrude, this way the attributes update correctly for the cut list.

@MichaelPascoe thank you for the quick reply. I have seen the frames-fundamentals, what I am looking for is specifically wood construction framing. There is very little information that I could find on how to accomplish this in OnShape, including things like stud spacing and placement of openings etc.

If there isn't a construction framing tutorial, do you know if there a place to request educational content to be created?

Did you do the frames fundamentals course? If not, start there. The concepts are the same, it makes no difference if the cross section is housing lumbar or extruded aluminum. I doubt anyone has a full tutorial to make a complete housing structure like in the video you linked.

@nick_papageorge073 is right. The Frame feature handles custom profiles. So you can make your own wood profiles for it.

I'm not sure of a tutorial specifically for this, but you can make an improvement request here.

Thanks @nick_papageorge073. I have started it, and applied a lot of it. Maybe what I am looking for is how to sketch for construction, and then use Frame on that. Any construction sketching tutorials out there?

Probably the most efficient way to create geometry to create frames on is to create a "construction solid" and use edges to define the frames.
