Do default view style toggles work for you?

I'm loving this addition, but I'm noticing these toggles do not persist between sessions, and I'm effectively selecting these each time like before.

If you right-click on "tangent edges removed" there is an option to make it default across all docs & sessions

Ah! An easter egg. Been wanting that for ages. The GUI does not provide a single clue for this. :0/
To be fair, I didn't know about it either until I asked.
