New FeatureScript: Cosmetic Knurl

Hello everyone,
I released my Cosmetic Knurl FeatureScript:

https://cad.onshape.com/documents/0bad5bfa3637bf84138a2a24/w/3daa9f730d6802a81ead8a58/e/af28a7d9efffdd0020743e56
This should help if the 3D modeled knurls are taking to long to regenerate
You can also type in a custom name and then the name is shown in the feature tree.
Be careful with the "Checkered Knurl" this can get heavy quickly.
Use the scale number to change the number of generated edges.

Do the cosmetic knurls show up in drawings views?
Yes
Can someone please explain, how to actually use this? It creates some lines on the surface and then what?
@zy_su to use this you will need to click the link above and add the custom feature to your toolbar. From there, you will then be able to access that tool in your own part studios.
The tool requires you to click a face, then it will automatically add lines to the face. This is for cosmetic purposes since the Knurls are added via machining and don't need to be created in the model unless you are 3D printing.

Ah ok. My purpose is 3d printing. I assumed this extension creates the grid template on the surface, and I could use some other tool to then extrude in or out to create the 3d knurl pattern.
You could have some sketches then sweep them along the cosmetic paths to remove the material.
Or you could use the Texture custom feature to get a similar result.
