How to paste Mesurements into different Part Studios?

heyo,

So my problem is that I want to use the measured variable "globaly" in the document (i.e adding it to variable studio). Or to explain it on my curent problem (but had this multiple times):
I'm designing something that has a slide door in it. So in the first Part studio I design the contraption, the backet so to speak… and in the second part studio I design the fitting door. Now I always try to make everything parametric, so ofc I would love to have a variable to use for the door so it has the right sizes automatically.

My first thought ofc was to simply use a mesured variable from the bracket studio and- oh right… its not global —> I cant use it in another part studio. And since its mesured, I cant seem to easily assign it to the variable studio since that only suports manual varaibles, not calculated ones…

So is there a way to solve this?

Unless you are dealing with very complex stuff, you could just design the door in the same part studio to completely avoid the issue, this the best option.

There is no way to have a "measured" variable outside of the part studio it was measured in unfortunately… There are a couple alternative options like creating a "master" sketch and deriving the same sketch into multiple part studios.

You could also use "derive" to bring in your bracket into another part studio but there is little advantage over just designing the door in the same part studio.
The "super derive" custom feature allows you to include variables when deriving in something, so if you had a layout sketch in a part studio, and used measured variables from the sketch, you could use it to bring in the variables as well (although I'm not sure how much that helps compared to just deriving the sketch.
