flat pattern x and y size calculator featurescript

siddik_musaddeksiddik_musaddek Member Posts: 2

Has anyone figured out how to calculate the max dimensions for y and x of a flat pattern in feature script for a sheet metal part and make them a properties of the part?

Please let me know if this has already been done or point me to a feature script download.

Thanks all,

I don't know how to use it properly but a bounding box will tell you , or debug the bounding box to log to console

I sell a library of computed properties - contains a bunch of common computed part properties such as bounding boxes and flat pattern bounding boxes (along with things like bend count, thickness, face count, longest edge, etc).

    Hi Siddik,

I use this to get the flat dimensions of my sheet metal designs. Just load the featurescript as a custom table… Maybe you can use this

a sorry… I thought you just need to know the x,y, and z values of the flat part… If you need to set those values as property you will still need to mod my script using "edit logic" so that you can set the extracted x,y,z dimensions as property of the part
