I cannot for the life of me get this sketch "to close" in the Basic Sketching tutorial. Please help. This shape can't be extruded and I can't find where the points aren't touching or are improperly defined.

Thanks!

@cassidy_clawson , Can you share your document with us. Then we can easily find open end point in your sketch which is not coincident but look like coincident. You have to do close inspection near all intersection point.

You can find the problem area by drawing a couple of lines across your sketch. The areas that are closed will then turn into areas and you will be able to tell where the problem is located.
Start by drawing a line that splits the non area in half, see which half is the problem and halve that again.

    Hope this helps

    Good idea @joris_kofman

@cassidy_clawson You can also extrude as surface and see where sketch is cut, then go back and fix

@ joris_kofman, If your facing problem while selecting sketch then see below method to select sketch for extrude.Hope it will help you.

    1. Directly select extrude command from sketch : - it will select entire closed profile present in that sketch for extrude.

    2. Selecting closed profiles one by one :  For selecting sketch from model space you have pick the closed profile one by one.

    3. Selecting sketch from feature tree :
it will select entire closed profile present in that sketch for extrude.

@cassidy_clawson, Kindly check intersection point of line highlighted in red oval. There will be definitely at-least one very small open gap by which material flowing outside boundary therefore it is showing white region in-place of shading region which is available only for closed profile. User can perform solid extrude operation for closed profile for open profile user have to use surface extrude.
