Can't get lofts the way I would like

So im working on an aircraft model and I can't get the lofts to behave in the way I would like I want to have it so it follows a side profile whilst also following a top profile to ensure the surface of the loft is smooth and I can only ever get one not both could anyone offer a fix to this issue
