Drawing: exlude items from BOM

Bernhard_HirtBernhard_Hirt Member Posts: 7 PRO

Hi,

is it possible to exclude some items ONLY in the POM list in the drawing WITHOUT exluding it in the assembly?

I am currently trying to create assembly drawings for production. It is supposed to be a step-by-step instruction, with each step placed on its own sheet of the drawing. For each step, the components that are not relevant to that step will be hidden. However, in the parts list, all components are still visible, as expected. I do not want to exclude the hidden components from the global bill of materials, because then they would be missing from the overall parts list. Is there any way to hide single items in the BOM ?

Have you given "Display States" in your assembly a try? You can insert all of the components that you need into the same assembly. I can only presume that all of the components, with the exception for one to be displayed on the BOM, would be "Excluded from All BOMs". In the assembly, create a display state for each one you need. On the drawing, you would insert your assembly, right-click on the view and pick the display state you want to show.
