I wanted to buy one of these, but they appear to available only in USA. Postage to Australia from USA is prohibitive. Can't wait until Amazon sets up in Australia, where I may have access to USA goods at reasonable prices.
So, once again, I designed and made my own. The probe tip arrived from eBay today ($8 AUD for qty 3 delivered from China).

Just a generic model I had to create for a job I am working on. Supplier gave me a photocopied 2D hard copy so was left to my own devices to make it look better than a 3D cube placeholder. First efforts in Realityserver.

So I am creating components to display at our booth at an industry trade show we are attending in a couple months. I designed a letter opener to display some of the intricate cutting our CO2 laser can do. I wanted to show details such as a thread profile cut on a part ( I did the same thing on a previous project I posted). I call it Mez-Calibur (Mez for Mezco Fabrication)
The blade does not have
an edge yet. I will add that after the show (safety reasons). I guess
I have been watching too much Game of Thrones and Forged in Fire.
Once I put an edge on the blade.....It will cut.....envelopes

It's not super fancy, But i'm not a power user by any means ....
Doing a small addition to our kitchen - Adding storage and a small counter area to a currently bare wall.
(The Toe Kick is only grey to add some contrast, it will be the same brown as the rest in real life)
The model was mostly an excuse to draw something, but it did have a couple of practical applications:- The first Version of the 'wall' was made to give an accurate drawing to the cabinet consultant we used. (The existing cabinets are a HomeDepot exclusive and we wanted to match.) Particularly, the location of the cutout in the wall, as It's actually an electrical breaker panel that cannot be moved or covered - Everything had to be designed around it.
- To show the wife, so I can get her approval before spending any money, and make sure we agree on the design/layout. (Probably the most important reason.)
- I'll need to install a couple of new Outlets, one for the microwave and one for the counter. I wanted to know where to put them before actually having the cabinets in the way. (It's not for exact locations, as I didn't measure where the studs are, but it's good enough for figuring the height from the floor.)
- The Countertop will be a custom cut piece of Granite as close as we can find to our existing pattern. The model enabled me to make a simple drawing to send to some suppliers for initial quoting, as well as play with small changes, like how much of an overhang and how big is the corner radius going to be.
- A chance to play with some features and learn the program better. (The fanciest is the door/drawer fronts are all from a single design and made using a linear pattern utilizing a variable array for the different sizes. also playing around with some ICE and derived stuff.)
- I used this model to show a co-worker how easy it is to import and add online content (I got the Outlet models from GrabCad)
(Eventually I'll add some side shelves and a home for the fire extinguisher under the counter overhang, and probably a shelf or two on the wall next to/above the cutout. They will have to wait until I get all this finished first though.)
I'm sure it's not be the best way to come up with the final product, but I learned a lot.

A bit more progress on the Hawk. The New(ish) Curve tools such as 3D fit spline Were a big help in doing the engine cowls and wing fillets. All of it was lofted from 2D profiles. I also attached a pdf of a 3view of the general Assy drawing. The software is Great!

Here is the four seat version of Hawk model i posted above this is the Falcon.
Uses the same outer wings Horizontal and vertical tail surfaces. Getting it to look right based off photos and measurements took several attempts.8 -

I'm in high school and instead of doing my homework I thought it would be a lot more fun to model pushrod suspension for a car.

You sound like me in High School... failed my autocad class because I never did the school work, just wanted to play with the cad. But some how still ended up working with cad after all
... Don't be like me though, I'm making less money than everyone here because I don't have a degree :'( Wish I could go back and do that part of my life right.

They have a lot more detail in the hardware, but you can see they faked the heck out of the body contours and neck, even the tuning head is super thick and blocky
Even if someone did steal my model and upload it, i wouldn't care, it's a public model. I would have been honored actually; to see my work being used by others.0 -
