Face Pattern by selecting Features

sebastian_glanznersebastian_glanzner Member, Developers Posts: 398 PRO
As many of you already know "Face Patterns" are a lot faster than "Feature Patterns", especially when working in sheet metal.
The only thing that is annoying that you have to select each face to use this feature and when you change the features, you have to reselect the faces.

The blue box should state "Faces or Features to pattern":

I think it should be possibly to use "Face Pattern" and select the features in the browser tree.
Because if you select features, then all the faces are highlighted in orange already.

Face pattern is faster (*performance*) so anything provided to the user to promote selection of faces - sure. +1

feature pattern without checking "apply per instance" checkbox already behaves as face pattern for all faces created by selected features

Hey you are right! Haven't seen this button before

So does it still make sense to use a face pattern with selecting features?

I have an IR to allow feature icon selection as a query parameter for all features with query fields. They might be jointed.
