Linear Pattern / Distance

tarek_mustafatarek_mustafa Member Posts: 40 ✭✭
Hallo Onshape Forum,

Please can you advice if there is a way to control the distance start point when using the Linear Pattern tool?
For example in attached file, I would prefer to choose the distance or "space" between each rectangle, rather than just have the option to choose the distance between each rectangle.

I hope that make sense.

Thank you and best regards,
Tarek

You can also just delete the dimension that pattern has created and set your own dimension between what ever points you wan't.

The beauty of Ons pattern is that whole pattern feature is just constraints. Click show constraints and you will see. So in addition to changing dimension points, you can remove/change/move things from pattern by just removing the pattern constraint (click constraint icon and hit delete).

You should be able to create the pattern, accepting any arbitrary number for the pitch, set that dimension to "driven" (RMB on the dimension), and then add a driving dimension for the gap between rectangles.
