I am looking to make a quick part of 3d printed TPU and would need to edit a flat model of a sheet metal design. Is there a way to get the flat model of the sheet metal into a part studio to then continue editing?

                    Sure can,
There are a couple ways you can do it. The one you may want to try first will also return the result back into the bent model.
Open the sheet-metal tab and create a sketch on the part face, then extrude add/remove.
If you want it to be a new part. then you can extract the flat pattern without the bend lines (more laser table friendly) by using this feature script
