You can split a part with the plane of that open sketch, with an existing mate connector or create a mate connector directly

Getting all the little details correct matters so much. From the changelog:
"Fixed an issue with not being able to RMB on Onshape logo while in a document"

At long last!! Just updated my drawing templates to automatically include mass for parts.1

split with "Keep both sides" option is very nice. I like that I can now determine with an arrow button which one is kept.
Split is still buggy though with determining which of the 2 parts get's the original ID.
I want to now 'keep both parts', but also have the 'double arrow' button there to tell OS which one is the original, and which one the new part ID.0 -
