Main, transformed by x.y.z o a given distance.
If you don't know the distance or can't measure the distance directly then look at suppressed items to make a sketch that can give measurements.
version 2, transformed by points
I did sketch a new point where I wanted to transform the stl from.
version 1, original location
@robert_scott_jr_ cannot thank you enough for this comment.. I was about to just switch to another tool. 😅
SW developer myself, "naming is hard" is my most used phrase, but the video in this case already uses the terminology that I think the software itself should definitely also use and show.
Having the tool names be "Transform Sketch" and "Transform Parts" instead of "Transform" visible in the command-palette and hover items would make this visible in every tutorial and guide.
From a "freshman" OnShape user coming from other tools, a good portion of the guides, documentation and tutorial seems to miss the: "You are in this mode now, so the same tool name is a totally different tool".
This gets REALLY frustrating, as this is an online tool the first question is always:
"Is the guide obsolete on an older version..? ..or why am I not seeing the tools talked about?"
…which is a super frustrating place to be.
In a way there are 3 transform tools. One in sketcher (non-parametric) which operates on sketch entities, one is a feature in a part studio (parametric) which works on curves, surfaces and parts, and the other is a tool in assembly tabs whenever you select a part or sub-assembly (also non-parametric).
