constraints

Can someone please tell me how I can define this sketch? Nothing moves when I try moving different sections. Also are there any tips for defining sketches, I feel like I run into this issue quite a bit.

Hello, weird interaction I'm fighting: Connecting a line to spine using a tangent constraint removes the face of the sketch. Unsure if it's a bug or something I'm unintentionally doing is causing it to happen. Any suggestions?

I apologize, I'm new at this, so I am still learning. I didn't want to ask for help since I need to know this, but I've tried for the past 3 days and I'm getting no where. I get everything created in Onshape, export it to an STL file, and open it in Bambu Studio. When I go to print it, it is less than half the indicated…

I have a use case where I'm populating a text block from a configuration variable to emboss onto a face and depending on the length of the text it either breaks out either horizontally or vertically. Plenty of ways to work around it but I'm curious if there's a "pure" sketch constraint approach… I'm probably going with an…

Hi! So I'm trying to create a custom feature and i've found a problem where i try to create an arc using 'skArc' and later define it using 'skConstraint' with '"constraintType" : ConstraintType.RADIUS' but while the original points defined in "start" and "end" are correct in the part studio the "mid" point and therefore…

So I see that the tangent plane feature seems to only work with cylinders which seems quite limited. I would love to get a tangent plane to a general curved surface. It seems like if I make a minimum bounding cylinder, make the plane around that, then suppress that part I could get the desired plane, but I also cannot…

Applied a coincident constraint from this construction line to a spline, yet it created this micro gap which I didn't notice until I really looked. This later caused issues for me when I went to make a projected curve and the shape not filling in properly as its not an enclosed loop. The sketch is entirely fixed, no points…

I can drag the…

Wondering if someone can please look at "Sketch 1" in V2 (it's a work in progress, i likely will have just worked around the issue by the time you hopefully kindly open my document ;) But V2 has the problem. I was previously just filleting these corners but I want to do this "in sketch" now (basically decision for printing…

For my first project with Onshape, I am trying to modify an object by adding text to it in a repeating circular manner. I understand that the text entity cannot be part of a circular pattern so this is not my issue. I want each text object to be different anyway (days of the week). To have the text correctly positioned…

I am trying to generate an ellipse with a fixed minor axis length and a vertical major axis, the length of which can be solved so that the ellipse fulfills the following constraints: it is coincident with the first point of a spline, tangent to the spline in that point, and tangent to a circle in its outer (convex) side,…

I'm learning CAD and am currently working my way through the "Introduction to Part Studios" module in Onshape's "Learning Pathways." My goal is to really learn CAD, not just understand the instructions. In the exercise for Basic Features where you extrude a control arm sketch you create, I'm getting close to the surface…

Hi, I have constrained everything well so far, but adding a pin slot to mate connector 5 does not work. I have tried removing the pin constraing on the pin above it before doing this, but it does not solve the issue.…

I often want to revisit a previous design and make small changes, tune the dimensions, etc. But every time I do that, it ends up over constraining the sketch, or some similar issue. How can I remove all (or several selected) constraints in a sketch, all in one go? As opposed to clicking every single one and do it…
