The "Export DWG/DXF" option has been removed for student accounts?
I've been using OnShape for some of my classes to create DXF files for my laser engraver as part of a manufacturing unit. Last year this was available, but when I went to have students do this again today, the option to export from a sketch no longer seems to be there for them. It is there for me on their assignments. Is…

Export 2.5D DXF?
How, if you can in OS, do you export a DXF that is 2.5D? I've attached an example. Vendors request DXFs of this item, in SW I can export a dxf from a view and Bob's your uncle. The only way I've been able to do that here, is by adding it to a drawing. Which is very clunky as far as user and vendor experience go.

how to make a dxf imported file usable
I converted an image into a dxf file (the silouette of a truck) and imported in Onshape. The doc available below. WHen I open the sketch, all the lines are actually made of many shorter segments. My goal is to 3d print this as a flat keychain-type model, in multicolor (it's a surprise for my son's "new" 1989 f150). I…

Issues with DXF files
I'm laying out pieces to laser cut to have an estimate of how much sheet metal will be used. Something like such (just pulled an image from the internet): I have like ~100 individual pieces to laser cut and Onshape becomes embarassingly slow when I try to place them as plain sketches on a "big canvas". Now I export my…

DXF/DWG Import from Illustrator Not Working
Hi Folks, I'm trying to use Adobe Illustrator (CC v19.1.0) to export either a DWG or a DXF to import into Onshape, but I'm getting the same error each time. Onshape says "Some entities could not be converted properly". I've tried exporting as both DWG and DXF, in each of the formats Illustrator provides: * R13/LT95 *…

Import DXF fill issue
I'm trying to import a DFX of a logo that I saved out of inkscape as a DXF. I then want to remove this shape from the part under it. However, as you see in the image below, the dxf imports as the outside paths only, therefore, its only the outline that I can extrude/remove. This is not what I want as I want the fill to be…

Add .dxf as a sheet in a drawing after importing?
Is there a way to add a dxf to an existing drawing? Such as formed model is dimensioned on layout 1 and then dxf added as layout 2 to represent to flat pattern of the part. Like a workaround for how SW let's you add either the flattened part or formed to a drawing. Also, is there a way to chose the name when exporting to a…

How do we create accurate sketches from API or imports or?
Hi Guys, Sorry if this question is really obvious. I am just getting started with OnShape. I usually work with SolidEdge ST7 in 100% Synchronous mode (I see no need for Parametric for any of my work... unless the software forces me to). I'm trying to bring accurate Airfoil profiles into a sketch so I can then loft them…

dwg conversions
I have gotten my design recreated in OnShape (http://www.spiked3.com/?p=3651) and I still have not found a vendor even in the ball park on price of my current vendor who can not open dxf files beyond 2004. And that is not even considering his convenience of having all materials in stock, and usually 2 day turn around .…
