DWT Importing & Text Issues.
Hello all - I have a situation that I need to try and address. I have designed a custom template for OnShape using AutoCAD. I have created a 'custom template' - Imported the AutoCAD dwg into the template and exported with all the properties. Why is it that even though I have set the properties, (when re-imported) they are…

Exports & attributes
My team is currently looking for ways to convert Onshape models into IFC files. There are a few third-party options out there for converting the geometry, but in all cases we need a way to specify which IFC attributes should be attached to which parts. In theory, it would be convenient to use Onshape's `setAttribute`…

Is there any scripting method to identify all arcs in a sketch to replace them with a line?
In trying to reduce the number of polygons in exported models, for performance reasons, I thought of converting all arcs within sketches to simple straight lines but have no idea how to do it through script. However, this might corrupt the sketch if there are other references to the targeted arc so a way to avoid that is…

Pre selection logic?
I'm having trouble understanding how to export a function. Can someone give me some pointers? Here is what I'm trying to do: If you have pre selected a plane and a vertex, then click the feature, the feature will detect that you are wanting to use the "Up to vertex" method. I'm trying export these definitions so that the…

I have a lot of assemblies that I want to export as step and render in KeyShot. My customer wants a small rendering of each assembly for their website. Is there any way to automatically export step files using an excel file with all the partnumbers? Also is there a way to export a specific configuration? (I made a…

Translation to SOLIDWORKS: how to match partid to the "ONSHAPE_ORIGINALBODY_ID" field?
I'm trying to minimize the stress on the API during a complex export in SOLIDWORKS by grouping multiple translations from the same PartStudio into one call with multiple partids. Problem: the resulting .sldprt contains one body per partid but I don't see any way to map a partid to its corresponding body. I guess the…

Vertex/edge/face IDs
I export part geometries (as STEP files) for use in 3D multibody simulations. I often add new connections to parts before simulation---to apply forces, add pulley or gear constraints, maybe sense motion---and these are ultimately based on the IDs of vertices, edges, or faces that I select from the STEP file geometries I…

Export, but not everything in the Assembly
I have imported a kitchen wall and floor, then I've made a kitchen assembly. Now I want to export it, but I don't want to export the floor and wall again. Can I exclude this from the export in some smart way. I could hide them, I assume, but it's tedious every time I want to export.
