Native file import is a lot fewer clicks if you're working on machine that doesn't have cad installed and just access cad files through network. Or have moved to Onshape a while back and have new computer then consider if you need to install previous cad at all..
I would appreciate Alibre/Geomagic native import for parts & assemblies, I think I have put in a ticket long time ago..1
You lazy bastard
Cross grooves are pretty straight forward but are there some specific rules for those curves? I rarely need this sort of modeling but got disturbed as I didn't immediately have a solution in my mind on how to make curved groove on top of ball shape?
I would probably try to create surface overlapping with ball and sweep along intersection line.. Or could it be possible to use slot for this somehow?
I'm sure this thread will end up with a contest to create basket ball with minimum features and the winner has coded a feature script to create any sports ball with a single feature2
You can do this in many ways as usual.
If you are creating frame in single part studio, use dimension tool in sketch mode to set the distance (Onshape part studios support multipart design so you can model multiple parts from single sketch)
Or if you are in assembly environment, then use (fastened) mate and add offset to set the distance.1
Perfect, next model your house then car and bicycle etc. and your master before you notice. Thanks for sharing!
A bit frozen project but I'll pop it up if we have some new designers that would like to be part of McOnshapers team.
pm me your account email and I'll add you to the team with edit rights.
