Extruding dilemma

There must be some rule that's preventing me from extruding this last 'wall'.I can click on all the other exterior walls and get surface extrusions, but if I click on this last one it fails and removes two others as well. Furthermore, if I try to also extrude the interior walls, it also fails the exterior walls. r walls… -
extrude upto next causes extrusion error
I'm attempting an extrusion that I'd like to terminate "at next" where the termination cross regions of extrusion, loft, and shell. I'm extruding in both directions, and the first "up to next" works (to a similarly complex region), but the 2nd one fails. In my project, it is the "intake_ribs" extrusion, and I left the 2nd… -
Couple of problems with a sketched part
-
Boolean operation failed to return a valid part.
Hello, I'm sorry but it's 3 questions. I tried to make this model to print it. It's a simple svg, converted to dxf, and extruded: link Import: After importing, there were errors on certain parts which prevented me from extruding them, I corrected but "Sketch 1" remains red with the error "did not regenerate properly: Some… -
Re: Add vs New Extruded Part for Subtraction etc

@william_holden959 @MBartlett21 Oh how dense I am! I'm actually the one who implemented extrue-up-to-with-offset and then failed to realize it was the right solution for this case... I've created a version in the same document, and made some edits to reflect the better way! (In addition to what M. said, I've also backed… -
Re: projected curve

Projected curve is a relatively simple feature. It takes the two sketches, extrudes them and intersects the extrusions to get a curve. If that results in a self-intersecting result or more than one result it will fail. I edited your doc and extruded both sketches. The visual intersection between the gray and the blue is… -
Re: Import sketch/body using FS?
@eric_schimelpfenig Firstly, as Neil said, in your example you should just be able to do: opExtrude(context, id + "extrude", { "entities" : definition.fte, "direction" : vector(0, 0, 1) // You could replace this with evOwnerSketchPlane, or evPlane, but it's only safe to do if you add `&& SketchObject.YES` or `&&… -
Help me extrude a QR Code
I've been learning OnShape and in general i'm happy, but the apparent simple task of extruding a QR code (for 3D printing) has me banging my head on my desk. Spend about two days of my holidays and i'm about to give up! I've tried many different ways, importing PNG and DXF but eventually settling on drawing it manually… -
Extruding .DWG with lots of segments

Hi guys! I'm trying to extrude a graphic for a large 3d print but running into some issues. The extrusion seems to fail with curved segmentation (900 segments) merged to a square extrusion. Usually simplifying the design without curves helps but that brings it to a whopping ~3500 segments and regeneration problems.…
