Re: What is the best way to extract or make a sketch of this profile?
The best way will be to manually sketch it while viewing it in section view like you have it. Once you have the general shape constrained properly, you can attach the vertices to the important vertices of the mesh; then delete those constraints and add dimensions. It's kind of a swapping technique: constrain to model,… -
Re: Path length constraint request
The important part is not only being able to dimension a full curve's or path's length, but also so use a dimensioned constraint on points on that curve. I know there are workarounds that involve creating a point on the curve via mate or a plane in 3D, but it shoud be directly possible as a driving dimension in sketches. -

What's the best way to reference a dimension from a part in another part
I have frame assembly made of 4 different alu extrusions. Now I want to put panels on it but the panel size depends on the extrusions lengths. I could draw all in same part but I don't like doing that as it becomes a mess quickly. Is there any way to reference that dimensions from another part? Or may there is a different… -
Can't attach dimensions to objects in drawing
I have created drawing of a part, imported as a .stl file that was generated in Solidworks. I want to dimension the diameters and the spacing between the centers of several holes but I'm unable to attach the dimension tool to the edges of the holes. Also, there are some lines in the drawing that I can pull a linear… -
