Re: How can I shell objects to maintain a XY dimension thickness to optimize for thin walled 3D printing
Hi @andrew_slovak I also would like to have a function to shell it with the same thickness in XY-Plane. That will speed up the print and make it cleaner, I agree. I don't know what slicer you use, but a few of them have a function to vary the line width to reduce unecessary infill. In the Bambu Studio it is called… -

Re: New Custom Feature: Pipe Centerline
@NeilCooke Here's a link to a document which adds a tubular offset to an edge, then splits the adjoining surfaces, creates a lofted blend between them and replaces that corner with the blend. This demo doesn't do anything 'nice' with the smoothness of the curves, so the resultant surface is likely very heavy (plus there… -
Passing assembly configuration through to part studio
Assembly configurations are separate to part studio configurations. This is flexible, but seems to cause significant duplication when the configuration is identical. Perhaps I'm missing something. Consider my example: The windows I'm buying are of a common design but in several sizes. I need to override the mass property… -

Re: burning lines
Lines have no thickness, extrude the rectangle first, then remove lines using extrude, thin, remove and set the thickness to your kerf width. That will model it up in 3d for you and show on drawings. But this may not create a correct dxf for a laser cutter if you just wanting slit lines. You can export your sketch to dxf… -

Re: coloured tabs for quick identification
I wonder if it would be better (if tabs are retained) to list them down the right boundary, rather than across the bottom one. They could be pulled out wider to read the whole name, then manually slid (or auto-slide, if that was the chosen behaviour) back to the previous width. You can list a whole lot more items…
