Re: Side project : 3d printed camera sreen loupe (public project)
Finished printing the first iteration, the hinge design did not work out at all, I underestimated the needed clearance for the printing process. So I worked on a different simpler design (V2 now) Also the Arca Swiss plate design I found online was not working out with the clamps I own so I had to increase the dovetail… -
Using Part Studio Configurations in an assembly
This is something I'm sure I am missing, but I have spent enough time looking for the solution on my own and it is time to ask for help. I am trying to create a configurable table or workbench - whatever. It is just a configuration training exercise for me but it might turn into a shop project. I have defined height,… -
How to draw this part?
Hi everyone. I'm trying to recreate this brazed plate heat exchanger: https://www.onda-it.com/media/1713/How-a-Plate-Heat-Exchanger-Works-Onda-SpA_2020.pdf (or something very much like it), and I can't for the life of me figure out how to do it. The end goal is to be able to do CFD on it, so the model has to hold up for… -
Edit Assembly Connections
I need help navigating the Onshape UI... I have a situation where I had to change the length of an assembly member. Normally - in parametric CAD software - I would expect that the following assembly members would react to the change. Because I had defined the connections randomly, this assembly model did not react… -
Ways to clean up version tree/branches
I want to get some feedback from the community on this issue. Maybe we need to adjust our workflow. I've got a fairly large document with a couple dozen parts and we've been trying to follow a GIT workflow where we create branches for design changes. Once we're happy with the changes, we merge back into our development… -
The TransientId for a newly created plane. (Onshape API)
Hi Everybody. I want to create an extrude feature by using Onshape Api. So, there is a great example at Depeloper portal (Feature list API -> Example 3). But there is a way that describes how to create sketch on the pre-defined front plane. What about creating the custom one? As far as I understand, I have to get the… -

How to make a hook with a complex loft following multiple guides
I am building a hook for a wire rack that I can clip on and trying to loft between two faces to make said hook. I can get it close to what I would like. I have the loft between sketch 2 and sketch 3 Using "loft path sketch" and "sketch 20" it lofts the profile of the hook I would like pretty close. But I cannot seem to… -
Struggling to find correct mate for sliding part
The OS mate concept uses one mate and only one mate between any 2 parts in an assembly. So how do I mate the sensor to the bracket so that it is held in the right orientation whilst being free to slide? I have 2 slots and 2 bolt holes. In SW, I think would select a coincident mate to place the sensor on the face of the… -
Re: Cutting Profiles
The method I chose was to create one piece of the block in a part studio. I then selected the Linear Pattern tool to multiply the piece. (This is assuming your pieces are of equal width. If not they can be aligned piece by piece using Transform by Mate Connector. Probably better to have created a sketch with the piece…
