Re: Improvements to Onshape - June 27th, 2025
I liked the previous document page better. But if the current one stays in this form - which I hope not - I would like to have the Label visible in the document list. So like before.
Re: Improvements to Onshape - June 27th, 2025
First time I'm really disapointed by an update. The new layout of the documents pages is a lost in efficiency and clarity for me. I want the old layout back please.

Re: Improvements to Onshape - June 27th, 2025
Yeah, I'm not a fan of the new layout.
The lower list of documents takes up too much room, and since 95% of the documents I use are in folders, that is a spot I never go to for documents.
I much preferred seeing more folders. I know you can drag the slider down, but you have to do that every time; it doesn't just stay down.

Re: Need a rib tutorial that actually works.
You need to use a sketch plane that matches your rib, of course, at least for your first rib. Then:
Re: Using Onshape for foldable 3D Prints
ooh! tricky challenge!
Sheet metal can't handle the various thicknesses you've got and even if it did, would likely bog down with the hexagons in it. One way is using sheet metal just for the folding (set the sheet metal thickness to match the living hinge thickness for your print) then model on top of it. If you want to simulate the model in a folded and flat state you can do it with a bit of setup. There's a Flat Pattern Copy custom feature you can use to get the pattern, then model either in the folded state or flat state, and use the transform tool to move the other modeled parts between them, like this. This is a rough pass to get you started, but the workflow can be streamlined a lot more. There's even possibly an opportunity for a new custom feature here to automate all of the transforms between the models if this became a common need.

Re: I think I have broken a context
This is intended behavior, not a bug. It's not intuitive, but once you get it, you get it. The primary instance needs to be in the assembly for the context to update. You can fix it by adding any of the parts from your jig to the assembly (in the right location) and right click that and set it as the primary instance.
The reason for this is that parts can move in an assembly even if they are from the same part studio, so Onshape needs just one part to be the "real" source of truth about the orientation of the part studio relative to the context.
Re: Cutting a section of an assembly to send to supplier
What Eric said.
I'm curious, what does the vendor needs an actual cut section for? I've never had a vendor ask me for that.
