Y-Axis Up selection not remembered when updating imported parts

Cris_BowersCris_Bowers Member Posts: 281 PRO
I had to create some plate letters aligned to a curve in Solidworks because of the lack of fonts available to Onshape. It took some playing around with to get everything aligned so I had to re-import a few times. Well when I re-import I don't get the Y-Axis Up selection and apparently it doesn't remember as the parts ended up coming in aligned to the Top Plane instead of the Front Plane.

If you right click on your import and edit:

You can change the source axis any time

That is true - you will have to create an IR to get Onshape to remember the Y axis direction. Don't forget, you can also edit the import feature to change the Y axis direction at any time.

Ah, thanks. I didn't realize I could do that.
