History of Mirrored Parts

So I have made this design that I wanted to duplicate with few minor changes. I used mirror then "new" to duplicate the first part into the other direction which is what I wanted. However, I want to change the depth of some of my sketches (extrude) and change the sketch of some parts to rotate it in different angles but I can't really since the history of the second part wasn't duplicated as well to be manipulated. Is there way to copy the history of used features? It just makes no sense to me to start new sketches and extrude all over again.
