How do I make a cone with an elliptical base?

I'm trying to find out how to make a cone with an elliptical base but I don't know how.

You can create a loft to a point, so create a sketch with your ellipse, then create another sketch offset from that with a single point, then use loft.

Another option might be to use revolve to get a regular cone, and then use the transform feature to non-uniformly scale the cone in whatever way you wish.

Generally, I think Neil's solution is the better approach, though.

Hi, I'm still fairly new to this software, so I don't understand how to create a plane/sketch offset to the default planes. I've discovered the loft tool though.
