Sketch linear pattern: not possible to set #instances to a variable?

timo_schmidtimo_schmid Member Posts: 36 EDU
Hi everyone,
I'm trying to pattern a sketch entity multiple times, and have the number of times dependent of a variable.
However, Onshape does not accept a variable as an input value there. (In contrast, for the distance between patterns, it is no problem to select a variable)
Does anyone know why that is, or if it's still somehow possible to have the #instances as a variable?
Thank for your help,
Timo

Currently we don't support using variables in sketch pattern count, but we do support variables in feature pattern instance count.  If you can adjust your design to use a feature pattern rather than a sketch pattern, you'll be able to use the variable.
