How to make a certain shape.

So I have an L shape and then, I have a rectangle connected to the L but it is connected to the part with one square. But it doesn't let me create the shape. I have a L shape that has a 1.75 width, which is 2 .75 blocks for me. But it is missing one part, it is missing the base of the L. I'm not sure if I explained that well but that's the shape that I can not make.
