Create/Export configurable part with differet names?

Hello,

I have created a configurable part, which also works so far. Now I want to export always the same 8 configurations as stl for a 3D printer. After a few modifications to the part then again the same 8 configurations and so on.

I can create the 8 parts in an assembly and also export them one by one. But how can I give the parts different names for the export? At the moment I have to identify each part again and again and enter the correct name.

Or is there another way to solve my problem??

You have not found a solution because no solution exists.

Have I used the configurations in Onshape incorrectly?

For example, when I design a configurable screw, I would like to export only very specific configurations of the parameter combinations.

For example:
M5 (5 mm thick) 8, 10, 16 and 20 mm long
M6 (6mm thick) 8, 10, 16 and 20 mm long

Is something like this really not possible in Onshape?

Only partially. I would have to abuse some keyword for the export rules and the part name.

Is there a page where all possible keywords for the export rules are given? I only found the post from fda in the linked post.

Can I use configuration variables in export rules?

@nocry3 If you open your configurations tab and select configuration properties, there is Name property which you let you rename the part. I then create assembly with all configurations and export it that way.
