Redline capability

Onshape...  Have you felt out any need or opportunity to make markups of items from a redline point of view and incorporation into a change process such as ECR, ER, etc...?  This would probably be more needed on the drawing side of things which we hear is coming at a later date.  With data management and change management at the moment there never seems to be a good out of the box solution for marking up existing drawings and having that markup serve as the basis for the new revision to be created and move through the approval process together.  A well planned capability here seems like it would be very attractive for companies looking to do change management and revisions all in the same package.

Yes we have though a lot about it.  There are many ideas around using the social cues (who is in the doc...etc) that we would like to expand upon.  Being able to markup any element in a document and have a collaborative session/design review has been discussed.  We are always interested in your ideal feature set as it helps define the scope.

@LouGallo  I think there are 2 pieces to this.  The first maybe as you described -  a fast, fluid, collaborative way to review something and take notes... less formal and before a product is released - while it's still being developed.  The second piece and the one I was thinking about was the formal redlining of a document in an ER (or ECO, ECR, ...) process.  That red lined document is the instructions for what is being considered to change or what should change.  I don't know of an out of the box paperless system for capturing a change request, marking up a document in that process, having it travel along, and then be used as a reference to change the authoring document.
