Super Useful FeatureScripts
Once again, I'm noticing that it would be impossible for me to model some of the things I can imagine without all the great FeatureScripts that @Evan_Reese has written. Here's a crazy pattern on a handlebar grip. None of the surfaces that the pattern goes on are regular, so there's no chance to use wrap or other more simple tools. I ended up building a "linear" feature pattern with 23 features using the #index=#index+1 trick to feed into some calculations for where to put points. The first view is the top view where the front, back, and the "plane" that the pattern changes direction on are all actually arcs. The base shape is mirrored from top to bottom, at least.
I used Face Curves, 3D Points, Profile Sweeper and Selection Fillet from Evan.
