Move-to-Folder or Nested-Labels to Organize Documents-Shared-with-Me?

What are my options for organizing documents shared with me?
  1. Can't move the document to a new or existing folder
  2. Can't create nested labels
Please tell me that I missing something obvious here.  I will happily eat crow, in the event that I am mistaken.  However, this appears to be a significant opportunity-for-improvement (trying to maintain a positive attitude about this) for a CAD platform that touts PDM capabilities.

Hypothetically speaking, suppose that I was a lone freelance CAD contractor designing a tiny component, for a particular sub-assembly, of a particular system, of a particular vehicle model, for a very large client.  Would I tag every document that said client shares with the same Great-Big-Company label?  What happens as more projects from the same Great-Big-Company accumulate?  It seems a bit like having a filing cabinet with no folders inside.  Where, oh where, did I leave that widget?  Oh yeah, in that deep cavern with the big echo.

Users have been asking these questions for several years now.  I am blissfully ignorant of what lies behind the curtain, but it seems that every document is uniquely located by URL, and that folders are merely an abstraction that could be completely customized for every individual user.  My abstraction shouldn't have to interfere with your abstraction, and vice versa.  Here's hoping that Santa smiles upon me for that next 3wk update.

I agree with you. We should be able to add shared documents to our workflow. I also have the same problem with smartsheets when people share documents. A benefit of smartsheets is that I can create a folder in the 'Shared with me' area, which allows some organisation.

I can see a benefit of having the document show up in the My Onshape area to allow a file to work in your workflow. The file could be colour different or have a 'shared' label that you can not remove to tell the difference.

@matthew_stacy If you created an improvement request, I would vote for it.  I personally don't use labels too much as I'm usually the one doing the sharing but as a default ability, I have always thought sub labels should be an ability.  In fact, seeing as the purpose of labels in onshape really ends up functioning as a folder, onshape should really have just called them that.  When I think of labeling something, I think of a bunch of things in a box(folder) that have descriptive labels allowing me to quickly know approximately what the item is.  I think the document name is already acting as the label.  Labels in onshape really are just special folders that allow the user to put in anything, including other peoples things.  It would be cool if folders in onshape just seamlessly allowed the user to put anything into it.  No questions.  There's a folder, its mine, now put that thing into it.  Should just be that simple seeing as folders and labels are just some type of underlying metadata that the system is manipulating.

I submitted an IR to extend Move To functionality to the Shared with me folder.
