Help us UX test Onshape subscription plans
In a thread last year the community got the opportunity to theorise on Onshape's business plan. Your comments were insightful and we appreciated your feedback.
We’re at the stage now where we have formalised our ideas and been getting awesome feedback from end-users and purchasers. Our thoughts are guided by 4 main principles:
Onshape will be subscription plan based.
There will be a free, fully-featured Onshape application plan in addition to paid for plans.
Users on either free or paid for plans should be able to collaborate with the minimum of barriers.
Your private documents will stay private regardless of your plan - we take your IP and security very seriously.
Onshape will be available in 2 plans:
- Free: Fully featured Onshape with a set number of active private documents and unlimited public documents. There would be no charge for this plan.
- Pro: Fully featured Onshape with unlimited private and public documents. There would be a charge for this plan.
We are recruiting users now to user experience test the mechanisms of how these plans will work. If you are interested in taking part, raise your hand and we’ll be in touch.

Sorry... I feel like joking.

The difficulty is that not many will jump until they can try out the system, so a free trial period with full access is essential ( as well as being an importtant phase for OnShape to pressure test the capacity of the system)
I will be in too.
