what's easiest way to design this in onshape? I'm new to the software and not familiar with tools

Hello Claire. I would create a sketch of the profile to the cylinder as if viewing a cross section of the cylinder along its length and then do a revolve of the sketch. The axis of the revolve at a distance from the profile equal to the desired radius of the cylinder. - Scotty
