about mate orientation

does it make a difference which way the mate is? Z is the blue one and i will use it here. part 1 the blue line is pointed to the right and part 2 the blue line is pointed to the left when i mate them together. part 1 is a 4x4 flat steel and part 2 is 6x6 flat steel and i 'm mating them in the center

jakeramsley Member, Moderator, Onshape Employees, Developers, csevp Posts: 661By and large, when mates are done they will be moved to align/anti-align the blue axis with as minimal re-orientation as possible.
