Helix inside non-conical surface - sweeping help needed for inverted auger.

I need to build an auger on the ID of a conical surface that extends beyond the ends of a cone. I have succeeded with the sweep on a cone, but the rest is beyond me at this point. I profiled a cone with extensions at either end, but now it is no longer a cone. What can I do to achieve this?

Also, I cannot figure out how to keep the sweep attached to the cone. When I select 'Add', it still creates an additional separate part for the sweep. If I keep it as two parts, I cannot figure how to fasten it in it's place.0

What about hiding the cone and then creating another just to use as a tool to create the helix. You could shape it just as you need for the helix to run whatever length you want. Then create the helix and then hide the construction cone. To attach the helix to the cone you want to keep, use a boolean add.0
