sweep

I am working on a project - Designing a racecar (LMDh category if curious). Problem/Question: I am trying to cut into the [insert correct terminology here] but in a way that it cuts more evenly into the extrude, rather than simply cutting it from one direction. I'd like to make that space for curved headlights + an extra…

-Link to feature up front- Look, standard sweeps are boring. They have no drama. They have no torque. They just follow the path like a good little obedient feature. I got tired of it. So I made Tweep. It’s a Sweep. It Twists. It’s Tweep. Do you want your geometry to look like a churro that gave up on life? Do you need a…

Hi everyone, I am designing a model with an inclined (angled) surface. I want to project/extrude a feature (like a cylinder) horizontally (parallel to the Top/Global plane) starting from this angled face.Currently, when I use Loft or Extrude, the software either forces the extrusion along the face normal (90 degrees to the…

I'm attempting to create a solid loft with a conical surface, starting from a recessed central hole and splaying out to a larger forward oval. I've tried lofting using the floor and rim of the cavity as the references, but I get the error message about closed loops. When I create a surface spanning both holes and loft from…

This might be super simple but im relatively new to onshape…. I attempted to use the sweep tool and nothing would work, i was unsure what to select. i need to connect the ends of those two cylinder like shapes at the top, into like a rounded off corner.

I have a rectangular pocket with a 45-degree ramp (created via Chamfer 1). I am trying to extrude two rails (Extrude 3) from a sketch so that they stop perfectly flush against that 45-degree angled face…

Hello there, I am facing a problem trying to sweep a profile. I could probably make the path sketch a bit different using tangency or adding a straight line where the path meets the existing part (blue) but since this is an exercise i dont want to come up with a different result. I already did it with 3 different loft's…

Hi, I would like to sweep a slot on a cylinder that will be CNC'ed. The slot needs to be normal to the cylindrical surface as it wraps around it. I tried sweep and wrap and neither wrap normal to the surface. Closest example of what I need - Imagine as you turn the grey part, the grooves mate with the tabs on the outlet.…

I am trying to create a groove around a shaft for a type of locking system. Unfortunately, I am unable to close the shape neatly. The part needs to be milled. Can anyone tell me how to do this “correctly”? Document:…

Makers muse recently did a video Going over Surface modelling in CAD using fusion 360 and said that most of this is applicable to Onshape as well. I wanted to follow along with the tutorial but I'm running into this issue immediately because onshape doesn't have the tool highlighted in red. So How would I make this twisted…

Hello, I am at my wits end, and am hoping someone can guide/help me along to finish my part design. I've included photos below of the part i am trying to model, and my current workspace state. Workspace:…

I can usually figure this stuff out but this one has me stumped. I have a revolved body (a spindle of sorts) and I'm trying to cut a V-notch the length of the spindle, while that notch rotates 3/4 away around the body. I've tried several ways, but none of the ways seem to get me what I need. I've looked around the forums…

Hello! I want to make a mechanical manipulator by SpiBot (https://www.cell.com/device/pdfExtended/S2666-9986(24)00603-3). I have no issue creating a single segment, however, I struggle to come up with good way to shrink them along the axis, as on the drawing. Would love to hear any ideas on how to linearly change scale of…

Hi everyone, I'm trying to make a model of a smooth tennis ball, but I have no idea how to make the curved grooves on it. Is there some way to sketch out the curve and project it onto the sphere, then sweep/extrude out the cutout? Thank you.

Hello, I saw some posts on this forum about it but none helped me. It surprising me because I don't think my issue is really specific so I think I am doing something wrong. As you can see in my document, I want to design the profile of a tube. However, when I want to connect the different parts together, I have an…

Hello, I’m new to modeling. I was trying to create a wing using the Profile Generator tool. I created guide lines and generated the profiles; I have all the profiles, but when I try to use the Loft or Sweep tools, they simply fail to recognize the paths. I tried generating guide lines on 3-point planes, but they haven’t…

Hi I have been working on this document for awhile, and i am kind of stuck on making a sweep between the balltray part to the right and the cone to the left, i want to have a rail in with the same face going from the cone to the balltray, it should have an angle and i want it keep the face of the rail in his original…

I'm new to 3D design, an onshape therefore as well. I have a design I'm trying to make: https://cad.onshape.com/documents/4f3068fc37cd404e496b5d65/w/bb2460c448ccdfc772293d47/e/0a043b966426950f70e23de1Error If you look at the bottom, there are two drilled holes extending into the part, based on two vertexes of a line…
