Favorite public documents

Requests for public documents:

1. Add to favorite. For documents like 'fasteners doc' by @BruceBartlett where you would just snip a studio where you need not having your own copy of whole document. Always having the latest additions when using original document.

2. When adding a document public, give some options on how public it will be:
a) As it is now
b) When opening Public document from link, let visitor open sketches and see dimensions and examine how model is built. It's not convenient to always make a copy. For community support purpose.
c) Can edit & share. This would be for true innovations, everybody can participate and put Ons to it's limit. I would be nice to be able to throw some idea public and see after few days what has happened to it  :o

    @3dcad

    I like most of your suggestions, actually that's not true. I like all of them.

    Situation 2b is currently (as you point out) quite inefficient for the helper or learner who wants to inspect a public document, but also (because they will almost certainly make their copied document public, so as not to curtail their quota) potentially costly in OnS server storage.

    @BruceBartlett  Good ideas and comments.
    Didn't find that with 'public documents' search, word public gave too much results.. Enhancement to avoid multiple threads about same issue in forum would be a good topic too.

    It would be nice to read comments about public documents from people who think they will most likely use the free version for their work and publish a lot of documents to avoid jumping enable/disable dance all the time.

    We have seen Ons develop a lot in the direction of comments here in the forum..

    Definitely need public fork and merge within the same document for open source projects. This is what I want more than anything in Onshape.
