How do you add dimensions or measure distances between parts, clearances, etc., in an assembly??

    This explains the measurement part, but it appears  you cannot add dimensions to an assembly?

    That is correct, You can only add/edit parts in a part studio. If you need to reference parts in an assembly, use "in-context"

    @scott_caskey - if you want to set the distance on a slider mate (for example), click the mate in the instance list and the dimension will appear on screen - you can click and edit the dimension, but it does not fix it. To set a fixed offset in a fasten mate (for example), you can edit the mate and modify the offset or you can edit each individual mate connector and add offsets to those too.
