Projecting Geometry

roche_harmonroche_harmon Member Posts: 2
Hi.  I'm new to Onshape.  I'm trying to 3D model a rocket.  I have extruded the tube (revolve) and am now trying to draw a fin.  When I begin to draw the fin, I can not get the cursor to snap to the circumference of the rocket.  Can you project geometry to the second sketch plane so this can be done?

In this case, you need to use the Intersection command on the revolved surface.

The Use command will also get the silhouette edge.

Good to know, but if possible I usually avoid using silhouette edges. They're not the most stable of references.
