Export Part With Color

Is there a way to export a part in stl. format and it keeps the color you assign to it by editing the appearance? When I export a part that I made green, and then open that file in another program, it always opens in white. Am I doing something wrong?

owen_sparks Member, Developers Posts: 2,660 PROHi. The stl format is just a cloud of points (not even a solid) and does not allow for color. It's mostly used for things like 3D printing. Other more CAD-like formats will preserve colour, such as some flavors of step.
