Solid extrusion unavailable?

What would cause this? If I select solid, it extrudes surfaces, if I select surface it extrudes the same surfaces. I can't get a solid extrusion here?

    This appears to be a parasolid error since it looks like you have only solid parts and they appear as surfaces, so faces are missing. Notice on your first picture the face is transparent on once side and opaque on the other. 

    Rolling back before your broken sketches, fix them, and rolling to the end might fix it.

    Please file a support ticket so we can better handle this.
